Why McDonald's Is Going to Make 'Bigger Burgers'

Some people say less is more, but for McDonald’s, more is definitely more.

The fast food chain recently announced that things will soon be getting bigger and better on the McDonald’s menu, which means sizing up the burgers that customers know and love.

“In the US, in a number of markets, around the world, having a larger burger is an opportunity,” CEO Chris Kempczinski told CNN in an interview, noting that the bigger burgers are something consumers can “expect in the future.”

In addition to answering customers’ requests for “softer buns and gooeyer cheese,” McDonald’s is ready to give the people what they really want: a bigger and more filling burger without breaking the bank.

“We think we’re going to be able to deliver a great tasting large burger at a superior value to what [customers] can get anywhere else,” Kempczinski said.

According to McDonald’s President of International Developmental Licensed Markets Jo Sempels, the brand will be testing out options for bigger burgers in limited markets while they find the best one, which will then be rolled out on a broader scale.

“We’ve listened to our customers. And we understand their desire for larger, high-quality burgers that fill you up,” Jo Sempels, President of International Developmental Licensed Markets said during an investor event on Wednesday, Dec. 6, per CNN.

But they’re not just stopping there—McDonald’s also plans to open “thousands” more restaurants, according to the outlet, in addition to adding 100 million members to its loyalty program in the hopes of getting customers to spend more.

Plus, the brand will also be “investing in more marketing campaigns,” so people won’t be able to resist their mouth-watering burgers, fries and chicken sandwiches.

It’s safe to say there’s a bigger and better future for McDonald’s!
