Waiter claims he had ‘aggressive’ run-in with Meghan Markle in new book
A former maître d’ has claimed Meghan Markle stood by silently as her handler aggressively demanded a table for “someone who is dating a prince”.
Michael Cecchi-Azzolina, an ex-New York City waiter revealed in his latest book, Your Table is Ready: Tales of a New York City Maitre D, the duchess’ team demanded a private dining area in the Michelin-starred New York restaurant Le Coucou in 2017.
Cecchi-Azzolina simply responded “I still don’t have a private table for you.”

The handler then stated, ”Are you aware my guest is dating Prince Harry and about to be a duchess?…Don’t you have a private area for us to wait?”
Markle and her handler had supposedly arrived 20 minutes early to the restaurant for their reservation.
“My first impulse was to laugh. I could give two sh-ts about Prince Harry’s date, and by the attention the escort was drawing from the crowd at the bar, nor did anyone else,” Cecchi Azzolina wrote.

Meghan reportedly “didn’t say a word” during the interaction, with Cecchi-Azzolina describing her as “aloof”.
“We get the most powerful people in the world that come here – no one really cares about you,” he said.
His claims come as another author claimed the Sussex’s former palace staff reportedly felt “quite broken” after working with Harry and Meghan.

Valentine Low, author of Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Crown, suggested working with the Sussexes even caused people to even become physically sick.
“When you hear about people saying at the time, they’re about to have a meeting with Meghan, they’re very worried about how it’s gonna go when they say things like, ‘I’m shaking, I feel sick.’ It’s not a good workplace,” Low said in a interview on GB News’ Dan Wootton Tonight.
“I know that several people were quite broken, working there,” Low added.
