The Jonas Brothers Opened a Restaurant in Las Vegas and These Southern Egg Rolls Are the Star
When The Jonas Brothers aren’t busy touring and taking care of their growing army of JoBro babies, you can find them in Vegas—at their family-owned restaurant, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen. The first outpost happens to be in Belmont, North Carolina, where their grandmother Nellie grew up, but it became so popular they’ve recently expanded to Sin City to share the matriarch’s famous Southern recipes, along with a few new ones.
Classics like shrimp and grits, Nellie’s biscuits and bread pudding will definitely be on the menu, but The Southern Rolls are a Las Vegas exclusive, featuring BBQ chicken, creamy mac and cheese and collards rolled in a crispy fried egg roll, served with Nellie’s signature sauce. Doesn’t get better than that!

What Are Southern Egg Rolls?
Similar to southwestern egg rolls—which are usually filled with chicken, corn, black beans, peppers, shredded cheese and southwest seasoning—these tasty egg rolls are wrapped up with chicken, Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce, spices, mac and cheese and collards), then fried until golden and served with the most delish dipping sauce you could drink.
“This dish is a great fit for Nellie’s because it’s different, yet it’s still Southern and that’s what we want to do—serve dishes that are interesting and different but are still Southern at their core,” explains Executive Chef Mario Nichols.
Even Papa Jonas (aka Kevin Jonas Sr.) is a fan. “As an international destination, Las Vegas gives us an opportunity to tell Nellie’s story worldwide with our unique hospitality, live entertainment and delicious Southern cooking,” he tells Parade. “Our desire from the moment you enter is that you can leave the world behind you, be comforted, be encouraged, be treated like you’re special and leave with that.”
