Starbucks boots woman for ‘revealing’ top
A woman says she was booted out of her local coffee shop because of her outfit.
TikTok user Ezzy alleges she was asked to leave her local Starbucks cafe because of the tube top she was wearing, the NY Post reports.
“I just got dress-coded at Starbucks,” she exclaims in disbelief in her two-minute video, saying the incident happened at a store “on campus.”
“Be for real, be so for real right now, on campus too, at my big age,” she added.
According to Ezzy — who was wearing a cropped pale yellow tube top with a heart and grey bottoms — the employee at the Starbucks told her she has to wear a “full shirt” in the cafe.
“She was like, ‘Yeah, I’m so sorry, it’s just since this is an establishment, it’s required that you wear a full shirt,’” she recalled. “I was like, ‘B***h, I’m not your employee, like, I don’t work for you. I’m an adult.’”
The TikToker said she wasn’t going to let the incident ruin her day.
“Let me tell you one thing, ain’t nothing gonna stop my shine today,” she continued. “I just look too cute.”
Followers couldn’t believe she was dress coded for her outfit.
“How the hell is it possible to be dress coded for a tube top in public?” one user wondered.
“That’s ridiculous, you should be able to go into a public setting without worrying about if ur outfit fits their dress code smh,” agreed another.
“You were slaying too hard for that Starbucks,” quipped a third.
The NY Post reached out to Starbucks for comment.
Earlier this month, a woman was left fuming when one of her male colleagues complained that her outfit was “inappropriate” for the office.
The TikTok user, known as Miz, decided to get the man back by wearing another ensemble that showed off her tattooed legs to work.
“The last time I got my legs out at work someone in the office told my manager that my outfit was inappropriate,” she began her TikTok video.
“It was a man. So, is it the tattoos? I don’t know. But there another girl who always gets her legs out. Is she inappropriate? Is it just me? So I’m going to rile it up today and get my f***ing legs out.
“Because my body is not inappropriate just because I have legs.”
She then showed the dress she was planning to wear – a figure-hugging black mini dress with a high neck.
“Keep us updated on if this man says anything about the dress,” one person commented on the video.
“Why he’s even looking is a question! You can wear what you want.”
“Been there,” another added. “They’ve got me to the point where I wear scrubs to work. Whenever my body is out people object.”
As a third wrote, “I’m not allowed to wear dresses or skirts at my job, because I ‘might climb a ladder’ – I’m not.”
