Pi is a mathemathical constant, but the number of restaurants offering discounts on Pi Day has dwindled in recent years.

Still, there are bargains to be had on Tuesday, March 14, especially for rewards members for chains that serve pizza. Chains that serve other kinds of pie sometimes get in on the act.

Why March 14? Pi is what mathematicians call the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Its first three digits are 3.14.
