By India Today Web Desk: India and New Zealand will cross swords with each other in the second and penultimate game of the three-match ODI series on Sunday, November 27 at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
The Men in Blue, led by Shikhar Dhawan, made a horrible start to their campaign after losing the opening match by seven wickets at Eden Park in Auckland. After Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and Shikhar Dhawan scored half-centuries, the Indian bowlers faltered.
Umran Malik was impressive in his first five overs on his ODI debut as he picked up two crucial wickets, but was taken for quite a few runs in his second spell. Shardul Thakur was taken apart by Tom Latham the other day and he needs to pick himself up.
The Men in Blue could think of giving Deepak Chahar a chance in the crucial match of the series. The visitors also have Deepak Hooda and Kuldeep Yadav at their disposal.
New Zealand, on the other hand, may not want to tinker with their winning combination. Finn Allen needs to find his mojo as he hasn’t had the best of times after replacing Martin Guptill at the top of the order in limited-overs cricket.
Kane Williamson and Tom Latham looked in ominous form last time around. Latham scored an unbeaten 145 and broke Nathan Astle’s 23-year-old record of highest individual score by a New Zealand batter in ODIs against India.
