New York City Is Getting A Malibu Barbie Cafe This Summer

“Come on Barbie, let’s go party.”

These song lyrics from Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” have never felt more appropriate as a Barbie-themed cafe is due to hit New York City in just a few weeks.

This cafe is a project from Bucket Listers, the same team behind The Golden Girls Kitchen, will debut on May 17 and be all things Barbie.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of The Malibu Barbie Café, a truly unique dining experience that celebrates the Barbie brand and all she represents.” said Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Location Based Entertainment at Mattel, in a press release. “At Mattel we are always looking for exciting, new ways to bring the Barbie experience to life. From the beach-loving décor to the menu, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the iconic Barbie style.”

The Malibu Barbie Cafe will have a menu created by Master Chef semi-finalist Becky Brown) and is meant to be friendly to all ages, with an all-day brunch menu as well as all sorts of cocktail options and desserts. There’ll also, much like the Golden Girls experience, be all sorts of interactive elements, merchandise to stock up on, and (of course!) adorable photo ops. There’s even going to be an option to step into a full-sized Barbie box!

Ticket prices start at $22 for kids and $46 for adults and dining window options will exist from May 17 – August 6. There’s a waitlist to grab a ticket opening now, and those tickets are good for a choice of entree and a drink of choice. Ticket sales officially open on April 19 through Bucket Listers, but you’re going to want to join that wait list now to hold your place in line.
