Kelly Ripa Reveals Unbelievable ‘Generation Gap’ News and Fans Can’t Contain Their Excitement

Folks, Kelly Ripa is expanding her TV empire, and fans may have missed her big announcement about it.

Last summer, the Live With Kelly and Ryan co-host premiered her game show Generation Gap, a reboot of the 1969 version featuring kids and adults answering pop culture questions for a grand prize. Well, viewers clearly loved watching Kelly flex her hosting skills, because the show’s official Instagram account posted a picture of her while sharing the exciting news that it will be back this summer for season 2.

“Fun-lovers of all ages, get ready for Round 2!” read the caption on March 24. “#GenerationGap will be back June 29 on ABC and Stream on Hulu!”

Because the All My Children alum continues to add more exciting jobs to her already full plate, fans were thrilled to hear that she’ll be returning to primetime with new episodes of Generation Gap.

What’s more, lots of folks immediately began expressing their excitement by posting in the comments section on Instagram.

“Awesome!! Such a fun show with Kelly ????,” one person wrote. “Oh, yay!! ????,” a different user cheered. “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” another follower added.

While some fans may have just discovered this news, it turns out Kelly already dropped a major clue about season 2. The Live Wire author posted a video on her Instagram on March 8, giving details for how folks could sign up to be potential competitors. While the deadline has since passed, it did reveal that the game show is in the midst of filming.

What’s more, the big announcement comes during an emotional time for Kelly. Her current Live co-host Ryan Seacrest is set to leave the daytime TV show on April 14, with her husband Mark Consuelos taking taking over his spot. What’s more, she’s also opening up about her private moments on Live through her new podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera.

In other words, Kelly has plenty of current projects to keep us occupied until she starts awarding points on her game show again.
