Jim Chalmers thinks his essay has been ‘misunderstood’: Andrew Clennell

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says from Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ point of view, he thinks his essay has been “misunderstood”.

Mr Clennell said Mr Chalmers feels that he’s talking about a “way forward” in his essay, not a “return to the past” of more government interventions.

“A collaboration between the government and the private sector, rather than forcing the private sector to do things,” he said.

“Almost a Tony Blair public-private sector partnership type scenario.

“But that is not how the essay is being interpreted in the business community.”
