How to Get a Free Footlong Cookie From Subway

Sweets fans, mark your calendars! Subway’s footlong cookies are back, and next month, the brand is giving you a chance to get them for free.

It’s all going down on National Cookie Day (Dec. 4), and those of you who are a part of Subway’s rewards program or located in the Chicago, Dallas, Miami and New York City areas are truly lucking out, as Subway announced select locations would be giving away a cookie with the purchase of any footlong while supplies last.

Unlike when the shop debuted the sweet new item last year, the 2023 footlong cookie is only available in one flavor–a true classic, chocolate chip–and it’s said to be launching nationwide (not just at a pop-up restaurant in Miami). Even better, it’s reportedly sticking around for more than one day. In fact, it’ll be around for quite some time, so if you can’t make it to the store on Monday, you’ll still have the opportunity to try it in the weeks and months to come.

“The overwhelming response we received from fans around the country last year let us know that we needed to make the footlong cookie a permanent addition to our menu,” said the senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway, Paul Fabre, in a statement. “At Cookieway this year, our guests will get a sneak peek of an even better footlong cookie: thick, gooey, packed with chocolate chips and served warm – right out of the oven.”

Additionally, every cookie sold through the end of the year–Sunday, Dec. 31–will support the Subway Cares Foundation, which offers tuition assistance to Sandwich Artists working in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Puerto Rico, among other initiatives.
