Hilary Duff Wore the Most Daring Mini Dress on Live TV and Fans Couldn’t Look Away

Week after week, fans tune into How I Met Your Father to see what Hilary Duff‘s character Sophie is up to in season 2. But outside of scripted TV, they also love seeing the actress’ latest foray into fashion.

Back in late January, the Lizzie McGuire alum went on Watch What Happens Live to promote her hit Hulu sitcom. As she appeared in the half-hour segment alongside TV personality Nikki Bella, viewers couldn’t get over Hilary’s outfit. She wore a black mini dress that featured latex detailing on the bodice and the skirt. The singer’s ensemble also gave a slight nod to the 1980s, thanks to a high neckline, a cinched waist and structured shoulders that turned into capped sleeves.

What’s more, Hilary played up the boldness of the frock with strategically-chosen accents.

For accessories, the Younger star chose a pair of black pointed stiletto heels. While she kept her blonde hair pinned back into a half-up, half-down style, she went grunge when it came to her makeup. Along with smoky black eyeshadow, she added a darker rose lip color that matched her blush to complete the look.

‘How I Met Your Father’

When How I Met Your Father fans spotted the actress on late night TV, they immediately took to social media to share how much they loved her surprising couture choice.

“She looks so good,” one person commented on Instagram. “@hilaryduff in latex?! That’s cool! She is really like a superhero, like Elastigirl :),” another follower wrote, referencing Disney’s animated superhero film The Incredibles. “I love her, girl crush @hilaryduff,” a different user added.

Folks can all agree that whatever fashion risk Hilary takes, it’s one that will have many eyes on her. As it turns out, this wasn’t the first time that she stole the show in a mini dress while attending a Hollywood event. Back in June 2018, she modeled a see-through crystal version while pregnant on the red carpet for the Younger season 5 premiere.
