‘Gross’: Awful response to Carrie Bickmore’s outfit
Carrie Bickmore fans are up in arms after the TV presenter shared a series of snaps that were flooded with “disgusting” comments about her body.
The 42-year-old revealed she’d enjoyed a day out at a forest on the weekend with friend and radio personality Fifi Box.
“Drove 90 minutes to find the forest closed. Drove another hour to find an open forest,” the mum-of-three wrote
“Picnic, hide and seek, first LEECH encounter. Photo cred: a four-year-old.”
But after sharing three photos from their adventure-filled day out, which showed Bickmore wearing a pair of yellow bike shorts and a grey hoodie, her snaps became the target of “gross” male attention.
As a result, many of her female fans leapt to her defence, calling out the “inappropriate, sexual” comments.
“It’s 2023 and there are still guys that think it’s OK to pass sexually inappropriate comments or body shame women all from the safety of their keyboards,” one woman wrote.
“Holy bejaysus some of the repulsiveness going on in here [in the comments section],” another said.
“Some of you have children and here you are commenting on @bickmorecarrie photos as if she is a slab of meat. It’s disgusting. You’re grown men ffs. Show some damn respect,” a third said.
“The comments on this post from men are exactly why I am single and refuse to let a sleazy man into mine or my children’s lives again,” another woman wrote.
Other fans commented stating Bickmore’s lemon bike shorts were “everything” and asked the Australian star to share where they were from.
Meanwhile another praised the young child who took the “happy” snaps of Bickmore and Box, stating the pair looked “amazing”.
“You are looking so happy and relaxed,” one said.
“We love ya Carrie, stay joyous,” another wrote.
“You two are the best ever,” said someone else.
The outing comes just two months after the former Project host announced her split from partner of 10 years, Chris Walker.
The pair share two daughters, Evie and Adelaide, and a son, Oliver, who Carrie welcomed with her late husband, Greg Lange.
In joint statements shared on social media, the couple said it was “with immense sadness” they had decided to separate.
“While this is a tough time, our focus is to concentrate on parenting, loving and supporting our three amazing children, Ollie, Evie and Addie with everything we’ve got,” they wrote.
“They are doing great. We won’t be making any further comment at this stage.”
Last year, Walker, the executive producer of comedy show The Weekly, starring Charlie Pickering, had stripped naked in front of stunned colleagues as he readied for a shower, thinking he’d left a video conference on May 17.
Up to nine staff members witnessed the gaffe, which reportedly saw him completely naked for between 40 seconds and two minutes.
The workers were offered “counselling” to cope with the shock, The Australian reported.
Bickmore and Walker’s split came as a shock to fans as they had only recently returned from an extended trip to the UK with their family.
Shortly after returning, the host announced her resignation from The Project. She’s still hosting her Hit Network radio show with Tommy Little.
