Google’s Latest App Update Improves Pixel Battery Life – Market Research Telecast

Google Confirms Fix for Battery Drain Issue in Pixel Phones

There is nothing more infuriating than seeing the battery drain quickly. The one who uses it constantly may be used to this problem due to the extreme use of the device that culminates in plugging it back in as soon as possible.

However, going into battery settings and this revealing that more power is being used than intended is an issue that some Google Pixel users have encountered and it seems to be being resolved.

Yesterday we knew that some Google Pixel phone owners were experiencing a serious problem with their phones. It turns out that the Google application itself was causing a large consumption of CPU resources, which caused two things: on the one hand, a huge drain on the device’s battery and, on the other, the device overheating.

It is hardly necessary to say that the fact that a phone gets hot is quite bad, especially if it is one that has been on the market for a short time or only for a year (we are talking about the PIxel 6 and Pixel 7 families).

It is normal that all the alarms went off yesterday and that the big G began to receive more than one report with this problem that it has solved promptly. And it is that today the company has confirmed that everything is due to a software failure.

In their words “a recent change to the Google app backend unintentionally resulted in a subset of Android devices experiencing accelerated battery drain. We rolled out a fix shortly after we became aware of the issue, and affected users should see your devices return to normal behavior immediately.”

One of the things also explains why reinstalling the app was not enough, they make it clear at the end by saying that “this solution does not require an update of the application”, since it was something that affected the server.

It is curious to say the least, since with this type of situation anyone could expect that it was an update that should be installed on any device once the problem has been solved.

So, if you are facing similar battery issues with your Pixel phones, all you need to do is wait for the fix to take place. Google has taken prompt action to resolve the problem and users should see normal behavior from their devices very soon.
