Federal budget: Paul Murray puts focus on government’s spending of revenue
Sky News Australia host Paul Murray says the federal budget has a “huge amount” of revenue because of Australians’ high-income tax and wants to know “where are they choosing to spend it?”
“Australians are paying, via income tax, $300 billion, it’s the most they’ve ever got and it is half of all the money the federal government will get,” Mr Murray told Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson.
“The reality is, is that the size of social security, unchanged, that’s the biggest thing – health the same, education the same, defence the same.
“What I’ll be looking for tonight is, if they’ve got this huge amount of revenue, where are they choosing to spend it?”
