FACT CHECK: Was Nancy Pelosi Driven To Tears In Argument With Chuck Grassley?

A video shared on Facebook purports Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley drove Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi “to tears” in congress.

This claim is baseless. There is no evidence Grassley made Pelosi cry during an argument.

Pelosi is considering another bid for Speaker of the House, CNN reported. Democrats are unsure about the speaker’s future in congress, with some suggesting she may stay in an “emeritus role” that would still allow her to have influence in the party, The New York Times reported.

The Facebook post purports Pelosi recently cried in a debate with Grassley. The thumbnail shows Grassley and President Joseph Biden with Hunter Biden in the middle, circled. “‘Why Did You ???????????????????????????? ????????????????????,’” the title reads. “Pelosi ???????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????? After Grassley Slams Her With Hunter’s ‘Contract.’” 

The video is of Grassley on the Senate floor in March, 2022. discussing the finances of Hunter Biden. He did not fight with Pelosi during his address nor does he mention the speaker during his speech.
