That’s when Rivera was caught on video calling Gaete a “f***ing c***.” She then tried to apologize to Gaete, who brushed her off.

During her 13-year ESPN tenure, Rivera was the dugout reporter for the Home Run Derby and occasional Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts, an analyst on ESPN Radio, and a writer for the company’s digital platforms.

ESPN confirmed to the New York Post that Rivera was no longer employed with the company. She also deleted her social media.

In an interview with the Post, Rivera said she “fully accepts responsibility for what I said, which I should not have.”

“There were extenuating circumstances but that in no way is an excuse for my actions,” she continued. “I am a professional with a sterling reputation across baseball and I do believe that I am being singled out by a group of individuals with whom I have a long history of professional disagreements.”
