Easy-to-miss detail in Woolies logo
Shoppers have been left stunned by a subtle detail in the Woolworths supermarket logo that often goes unnoticed.
Despite claims that the green logo is a stylised version of the letter W, some argue that it looks like something else entirely.
Some eagle-eyed Woolies shoppers have pointed out that the logo actually resembles a pumpkin.
The Woolworths logo has a history of sparking debate and controversy. In 2009, tech giant Apple initiated legal proceedings against the supermarket chain, claiming that the new logo was too similar to its own.
However, Woolworths maintained that the logo was either a stylised W or a depiction of fresh produce.
“I always thought it was an apple or a ‘W’, didn’t realise it was a pumpkin. This is insane,” one person commented online.
“It’s not an apple?” another asked.
A similar discussion was recently had over the hidden symbol in the Guzman y Gomez logo.
The popular Mexican fast food joint‘s logo features a “starburst” design that bears an uncanny resemblance to a lime cut in half.
According to GYG, this hidden element is no accident and symbolises their “love of fresh ingredients”.
While you might have thought that the faces on the logo belonged to the restaurant chain’s founders, it turns out that they are actually the fathers of two childhood friends of the ex-New York hedge fund manager Steven Marks.
