Daisy Jones & The Six’s Riley Keough Used Fan Art To Build Daisy’s Look – Looper
Riley Keough spoke candidly about what it took to bring Daisy Jones to life for the new series during an interview with The Steve Varley Show. And in the course of the conversation, she admitted to being a bit spoiled in terms of written inspiration for the character, saying, “I think it was just a combination of the book and the script. She was very well written, so I had a lot of material to draw from.” When it came to the character’s look in “Daisy Jones & The Six,” however, Keough needed to do considerably more homework. As the actor claims, that involved an online deep-dive into Daisy Jones fan art.
“In terms of, ya know, the way she looks, and her costume and her hair and everything,” Keough said, “I actually found a lot of inspiration from fan art on the Internet.” The actor goes on to say Instagram proved particularly fruitful in helping her craft Daisy’s look, adding, “So when we were talking about what her hair should look like, and if she should have bangs, or what color the hair should be, I looked on Instagram at Daisy Jones fan art.”
If you’ve already tuned in to stream episodes of the series, or even just watched the “Daisy Jones & The Six” trailer, you know that approach paid off in spades for Keough, who nails both Daisy’s glammed-up and glammed-down looks with sincere style throughout. And it seems Daisy’s fashion-loving fans should be taking a bow along with her.
