CicLAvia closed Sherman Way for car-free, carefree fun in Canoga Park to Reseda

CicLAvia returned to the San Fernando Valley on Sunday for five miles of car-free Sherman Way.

Participants enjoyed bike riding and other modes of non-motorized transportation as they explored the sights, businesses and restaurants from Canoga Park, at Shoup Avenue, through Winnetka, to Lindley Avenue in Reseda — or the reverse — or starting and ending anywhere along the route.

There were three “Hubs” along the route with family activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking and first aid. Free pedicab rides, sponsored by AARP, were available at each information booth, too.

The event on Sherman Way was held previously in Dec. 2019.

CicLAvia’s closed street events are not races and participants may choose to explore the entire length or part of the route. There is no fee to participate.
