While donating money to nonprofits like The National Center for Trans Equality and GLSEN, volunteering your time, and participating in marches are worthy ways to show your support for the LGBTQ+ community, don’t rule out attending drag brunches. The decades-old tradition isn’t just entertaining, heart-warming, and inclusive, it shows the world that gender can be expressed in many different ways.
Though cities across the country are hosting a bevy of enticing drag brunches for Pride Month in June, it’s tough to top the appeal of Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC’s Pride Brunch held at its signature restaurant Seasons.
Hosted this year by the beloved singer, songwriter, and RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Jujubee, on Sunday, June 4, the event is poised to become one of Pride’s hottest tickets. From 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm, attendees can enjoy a lively soundtrack by local DJ Alex Love while sipping bottomless bubbles and New Orleans-inspired libations, like Hurricanes and Southern Decadence cocktails, and savoring delectable Southern bites. Afterwards, they’ll get the opportunity to hit the dance the floor in the atrium for a rousing post-brunch tea dance from 1:30 pm 3:00 pm while DJ Tanner takes over the turntables.
As with last year’s sold-out version, the 2023 Pride Brunch will benefit Worthy Mentoring, an area non-profit connecting vetted and trained mentors and mentees in the LGBTQ+ community for guidance and support through a free mobile iOS and Android App.
On top of that, Dr. Anthony Fauci will be recognized at this year’s event with the inaugural Worthy Mentor Award for his long-standing dedication to the LGBTQ+ community with his leadership in research, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS. Fauci comments, “I am honored to receive the inaugural Worthy Mentor award, and bring awareness to ways we all can uplift and empower the diverse LGBTQ+ community.”
“I am thrilled with how this event has grown over the years,” said Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC’s General Manager and Regional Vice President Marc Bromley in a release. “Celebrating inclusivity and diversity is incredibly important for our community and also our employees.”
Tickets for the 2023 Pride Brunch are extremely limited, selling out quickly, and begin at $150 per guest. There are also multiple packages available offering special VIP access to the LGBTQ+ community’s biggest stars. Reservations can be made at Worthy Mentoring Events, or by calling Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC at (202) 342-0444.
