Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar and MoS Pramanik visit Dinhata to meet BJP workers
Majumdar, during his visit, claimed that they will not be stopped by any obstacle. “The minister was attacked but our people are being arrested,” Majumdar said. It is pertinent to mention that Police booked 48 BJP workers on Monday under non-bailable sections of the IPC, including attempt to murder, and the Arms Act in connection with the clashes in Coochbehar’s Burirhat on Saturday.
Pramanik and Majumdar visited the houses of BJP workers who were victims of alleged violence. Pramanik said, “The state administration is disturbing peace.”
BJP National Vice-President Dilip Ghosh said there is an attempt to attack the BJP workers ahead of the Panchayat polls to weaken our morale.
Meanwhile, in a different context, following a meeting with state Education Minister Bratya Basu and Vice-Chancellors of various universities, the Governor said, “Every Constitutional authority should work as per the Constitution and there must be checks and balances.”
