Aakash Byjus Interview Experience for Academic Specialist 2023 (On-Campus) – GeeksforGeeks

It is On-Campus recruitment by the Aakash-Byjus team for the Academic Specialist role. A total of 7 subjects are considered for the role namely,

  • Physics Engineering 
  • Physics Medical
  • Chemistry Engineering
  • Chemistry Medical
  • Botany
  • Zoology

Among these, candidates have to choose one subject as their expertise for the role to move further in the recruitment process. I have chosen Physics Engineering as my expertise for the role.

Round 1: Written Test

  • A total of 40 questions are asked in the multiple-choice format of our chosen subject.
  • The time duration to complete the test is 90 minutes. 

Candidates who met the required cut-off in this test have qualified for the next round. It is just a pass round and marks will not be considered for further evaluation after this round in the recruitment process.

Round 2: Pre-Placement Talk

 This round is not a qualifying or compulsory round, but it is necessary to perform in further rounds of recruitment. In this round, the HR from the recruitment has instructed all the further round eligible candidates about the submission of video assessment like how to create the lecture recording, how the further recruitment will be processed, etc.., He also mentioned all the necessary information about the job and cleared all the queries of the candidates in that process.

Round 3: Video Assessment

  • In this round, the HR has given around 10 topics from our chosen subject, and we have to prepare a lecture recording by choosing a single topic among those topics.
  • One-day deadline is been given to complete the procedure.
  • I have chosen Work, Energy & Power as my topic and completed the lecture recording for the assessment by considering all the necessary requirements mentioned in the pre-placement talk.
  • It is not an elimination round, but the performance is been considered for the final evaluation. 

Round 4: HR Round

Some of the HR questions asked by the interviewer are mentioned below,

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Why have you chosen Physics as your Expertise?
  • Have you appeared in any interviews previously?
  • Why you came to the teaching field?
  • Explain about your family.
  • Do you have any teaching background in your family?
  • Do you have any questions for me?

Round 5: Subject Matter Expert(SME) Round

This round is done for around 25 minutes of time. In this round, all the questions are asked based on the topic that I have chosen for the video assessment i.e., lecture recording in the third round of the recruitment. Questions asked in this round can be mentioned as follows,

Phase – 1: Technical Questions

  • Introduce yourself.
  • What is your topic for the lecture recording and why have chosen that topic among others?
  • Define Work, Energy, and Power with examples.
  • Mention the relation between work, energy & power.
  • Explain the Work-Energy theorem.

Phase -2: Problem-Solving

In this phase of the round, the interviewer has been given three problems to me solve, of which one problem is easy to level and two questions are moderate level of problems. All the problems are related to the topic that I have chosen in the lecture recording assessment.

After 20 days results have been declared for all the subject roles of academic specialist by the HR team of Aakash-byjus. It is a good interview experience and the HR team was very comfortable throughout the recruitment process.
