Strawberry was almost put down due to a strange growth on her head

A two year old Pitbull named Strawberry who was nicknamed “unicorn dog”, has found her forever home in Pasadena.

Due to the large growth on her head, Strawberry was nearly euthanised in November 2022.

Today, she’s thriving.

When Strawberry was rescued by the La Belle Foundation in the US she had been through some tough times.

“This young dog has been through the wringer and back,” the rescue organisation said in a post on Instagram shortly after taking her in.

“She has horrible scratches on her swollen face and goopy eyes, not to mention two giant lumps in her sweet head.”

In the past, Strawberry had been in and out of different shelters who thought the lump on her head was a tumour and thought it might be best to put her down.

After running tests, it was revealed the lump was simply scar tissue from an old injury wasn’t life threatening at all.

Since then Strawberry is back to good health and ready for adoption by the Kuhlman family from Los Angeles who saw her journey online and “couldn’t resist”.

”Something spoke to me about her,” Kristen Kuhlman, told NBCLA “She wasn’t able to find a home for quite a while. We waited and thought about it, and we kept seeing her on the website.”

The Kuhlman children added that Strawberry is a great cuddler and they wondered if the bump is the reason why it was so long befpre she was adopted.

The family chose to keep the name Strawberry as it was what she came with and believed it was a good fit.
