Angel Stadium revamps food menu under new Chef Dennis Radcliffe
With baseball season about to begin and the Angels set for their home opener April 7, Angel Stadium has revamped its food menu with new items for both concession stands and premium suites or club members.
“A lot of [the menu] is based on fan feedback, we want fans to know they’ve been heard,” Angel Stadium Director of Fan Hospitality Eric Ursua said.
A similar sentiment was echoed by Chef Dennis Radcliffe. Its Radcliffe’s first year as chef de cuisine, overseeing four other chefs on his team and about 100 to 150 cooks.
“All of us with the pastry team get in at 6 a.m. to make everything in-house,” Radcliffe said.
He began working at Angel Stadium in 2013 as a cook and worked his way up until he was named sous chef last year before moving into the executive chef role this year.
Radcliffe, who lives in Yorba Linda, grew up around Orange County attending Angels games and other events, like SoCal Harvest, at the stadium.
“We get a lot of fan feedback, but we also work to be creative and innovative with the food,” Radcliffe said.
The Brewery X Restaurant inside the stadium added a BX Burger for 2023 featuring a brioche bun, bacon jam, cheese, shaved onion rings and roasted garlic aioli with house fries.
Also new at the restaurant is Kung Pao Cauliflower, house made Kung Pao sauce smothered over fried cauliflower bites. The house made jumbo soft pretzel, a fan favorite, will remain on the menu.
A Huckleberry Crostata, using a Brewery X seltzer for the filling, was added.
“It’ll still have that hint of seltzer flavor, even though the alcohol is completely cooked off,” Pastry Supervisor Christy Petro said.
Lexus Diamond Club members will have new menu items available as well — a Curry Roasted Cauliflower, 4HR Braised Short Rib, Lemon Pepper Wings, Bourbon Maple BBQ Fried Chicken Sandwich, and a Red Velvet Cake (an ode to the team colors).
The suites will have Al Pastor Ribs, Mediterranean Tomato Salad, a California Steak Board, and various desserts like Banana Cream Pie, Strawberry Crunch Cake and more available.
Regular and Nashville-style hot chicken on with fries and macaroni and cheese as well as hot dogs, Cathy’s Cookies (a bucket of chocolate chip cookies), burgers and a corner market with drinks and snacks are new at the View Level (400 sections) this year.
New dessert locations have been added to the Club Level (300 sections) on the first and third base sides.
The Chopped BBQ Brisket Mac & Cheese Bowl (and vegetarian option Buffalo Cauliflower Mac & Cheese) can be found at concession stands 114 and 238.
In-Seat Diamond Club Exclusive Beef Birria Nachos remained on the menu this year, as did the Barbacoa Burrito, which uses fresh tortillas from Tortillas Mejorado, a company co-founded by Chef Eduardo Ruiz. The company provides tortillas to well-known restaurants like Burritos la Palma and Chicas Tacos, as well as others.
Menus and additional information can also be found in the MLB Ballpark app.
