“Tulsa King’s” Margaret Devereaux is played by veteran actor Dana Delany. She started her career by acting in popular American soap operas “Ryan’s Hope” and “As the World Turns” in the late 1970s and 1980s. She gained wide recognition for her role as Captain Colleen McMurphy on the primetime ABC drama “China Beach,” as an army nurse stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The period program explored the conflict from a female perspective and lasted for four seasons from 1988 to 1991. Delany won two Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding lead actress in a drama series in 1989 and 1992 for her work on the show.
The actor continued her career by appearing in numerous movies such as “Tombstone,” “Exit to Eden,” Fly Away Home,” “Wide Awake,” and “Camp Hell.” On television, she also took up voice acting where she voiced characters in “Superman: The Animated Series” as Lois Lane, “Justice League,” and “The Batman.” On the small screen, she played Katherine Mayfair in four seasons of “Desperate Housewives” in addition to supporting roles on “Body of Proof” and “Hand of God.”
When talking about her acting adventures in a 2019 interview with AARP, Delany said, “I’ve been very fortunate. I’ve never had a lull in my career. I attribute that to just that I love what I do.” She then shared how giving audiences what they want is also beneficial to continuing an acting career after so many years.
