Trader Joe's Shoppers are Calling Its New Holiday Drink ‘A Party in a Can'

Have you ever wondered what a Christmas tree might taste like? From a scientific perspective, it’s probably closest in taste to rosemary, but it’s way more fun (and festive) to imagine it tastes like a candy cane — sweet and minty.

Although gingerbread is a top contender for the number one spot, peppermint is undoubtedly the official flavor of Christmas time. From cheesecake to milkshakes, there’s virtually no treat that hasn’t been given the Jack Frost treatment — and it doesn’t seem like Jack is stopping at just desserts.

Like peppermint, cocktails are synonymous with the holidays, and Cutwater just released an iconic mashup that fans are losing it over.

If you’re unfamiliar, Cutwater is an award-winning spirit brand that offers a variety of distilled spirits, ready-to-drink canned cocktails and even margarita popsicles. The most recent addition to the brand’s staggering line-up of canned beverages is a Peppermint White Russian — and if you’re lucky, you might be able to snag one at your local Trader Joe’s.

The festive take on the classic cocktail features Cutwater’s signature vodka mixed with a coffee cream liqueur and a splash of peppermint flavor. Each can boasts a dizzying two shots of the boozy spirit and comes in at an eye-popping 13 percent ABV per can. According to an Instagram post by @traderjoesnew, you can purchase the cans individually or in a 4-pack at Trader Joe’s, with the price varying based on location.

Needless to say, the comments section exploded with people eager to try the seasonal cocktail. “Well this just sounds like a party in a can! Count me in! ????????????????” said one excited user. “Yep need????” agreed another.

Although most of the conversation centered around the drink’s taste, a few users urged caution (and excitement) when it came to indulging in the 13 percent ABV of the beverage. “It’s the 13% for me????????,” one person said. “Oof my head hurts tomorrow already,” hilariously quipped another.

You can typically find Cutwater canned beverages at your local liquor store, but if you’re looking to find the limited-edition flavor at TJ’s, you might want to call ahead first, as it seems like the release may be exclusive to California stores. “Florida TJs don’t sell hard liquor in store. I’m so disappointed!!” shared someone. “Sadly they won’t be in Utah ????I love peppermint,” another individual cried.

Thankfully, if you’re not able to find these in-store, you can check Cutwater’s website to find out if they’re available near you.
