The Sweet Treat Costco Shoppers Call 'Way Too Dangerous'

Desserts are a perfect chocolate-coated bookend to any meal year-round, but during the holidays, sweet treats seem to elevate to the highest versions of themselves. From decadent toffee-covered popcorn to outrageously delicious pecan pie dip, there’s nothing we haven’t dusted with a blanket of powdered sugar.

While much of the magic of the season lies in making desserts from scratch, sometimes it’s better to let someone else do the baking and focus our energy on decking the halls (or recovering from Thanksgiving). Once everything is wrapped in tinsel and adorned with bows, there’s nothing better than snuggling up with a tin of delicious cookies and a festive cocktail (or two), and bulk-grocer Costco just stocked up on a treat fans are calling “bombalicious.”

David’s Cookies is known for producing delectable cookies and baked goods in a variety of flavors and then delivering those tantalizing morsels straight to your door. While you can order directly from the brand’s website, Costco just added the Butter Pecan Meltaways to its stores at a deal you won’t want to miss out on.

Inside a stunning high-gloss red tin emblazoned with the David’s Cookies logo, shoppers will find a mountain of delicate cookies studded with pecans and coated with powdered sugar. Each buttery cookie is made to melt in your mouth and would pair perfectly with your morning cup of coffee or late-night peppermint white Russian. Although the contents might not make it to Christmas, the packaging makes this the perfect gift for someone else, and it requires nothing more than the addition of a bow.

Photos of the iconic bright red container made their way to the dedicated Costco Reddit thread, and users were quick to share their collective excitement at the release of the treats. “These are dangerous(ly good)!” commented one person. “Looks perfect for under the Christmas tree. (Even if the box would be empty, lol)” hilariously chimed in another.

From the looks of the responses to the photoset, this find is sure to disappear from Costco’s shelves swiftly. And, for a limited time, you can snag your tin at a discount. When asked how much the goodies were, OP Bryllant responded, “I believe 6.99 or 7.99. Had a coupon. Regular 9.99.”

Although we couldn’t find evidence of the $9.99 price, we were able to find a 2-pack on sale for $33.99 through Costco’s website, which is an incredible deal considering one tin through the David’s Cookies website costs just as much.
