The recently launched game “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” has quickly captured the attention of Pornhub users. The popular adult website has revealed some intriguing statistics about Zelda’s impact on its platform, which contains both unexpected and expected findings.
Tears of the Kingdom is a sequel to Breath of the Wild, a highly acclaimed game for the Nintendo Switch that is often regarded as one of the finest titles for the console and enjoyed immense popularity as a flagship release.
The term “zelda” experienced a surge in online searches on Pornhub. Specifically, on May 7, there was a 357 per cent increase in search popularity for the term, compared to typical periods. This figure rose to 399 per cent on the day of the game’s release. By May 15, the term had become exceptionally popular, with an astonishing 1,477 per cent increase in popularity on the adult entertainment website, Pornhub.
Notably, the term “purah zelda,” referencing a character named Purah in the game, saw an extraordinary 42,257% increase in popularity compared to a typical day. Another highly searched term, with a popularity boost of 22,067per cent, was “legend of zelda rule 34.” For those unfamiliar, Rule 34 states that if something exists, there is adult content related to it.
In general, the most popular searches related to Zelda encompassed terms like “legend of zelda,” “zelda hentai,” and “zelda cosplay.” Additionally, on the day of the game’s midnight release, Pornhub experienced a slight decrease of 2.3 per cent in its usual traffic, indicating that many individuals were likely engaged in gaming activities instead.
Starting at the beginning of this month, searches for “zelda” on Pornhub witnessed a substantial rise of 236 per cent. By May 12th, the day of Tears of the Kingdom’s release, this increase reached 399 per cent. Remarkably, this upward trend persisted and intensified further, as reported by Pornhub Insights. On May 13th, there was an impressive surge of +759 per cent in searches, followed by a staggering +1,362 percent increase on May 14th. The climax came on May 15th, with an enormous +1,477 percent surge in searches. Among all the characters, there was one in particular that drew significant attention from Pornhub visitors.
