Experts say Jupiter and Mercury will appear as “two bright objects” close to the horizon, while Venus and Uranus will appear higher in the sky. Mars, meanwhile, will shine close to the moon.

While March 28 is the best day for observation, it’s believed the alignment will be visible in the days before and after.

US astrologer Gary Swangin told the New Jersey Herald that Venus, Mars and Jupiter will be able to be viewed with the naked eye, however a pair of binoculars may be required to see Mercury and Uranus.

The space event has caught the interest of former Apollo astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

“Don’t forget to look to the sky (at) the end of the month for the planetary alignment which will have at least five planets – plus the moon – all visible in almost an arc shape as seen from Earth,” he said on Twitter.
