It wasn’t too long ago that hip-hop sensation Cardi B had an iconic Super Bowl moment when her ad with Pepsi aired and her “Okurrr” reverberated beyond GIFs and memes and onto mainstream American culture. Heck, the phrase has become so ubiquitous that Google Docs autocorrected me when I added an extra “r.” But that was 2019.
The Bronx rapper and her husband Offset, from the wildly popular Atlanta rap group Migos, look to be teaming up with another megabrand for a Valentine’s Day-themed Super Bowl ad and an exclusive meal.
In the lead-up to the lovers’ holiday, McDonald’s has seemingly partnered with the duo to create a brand-new meal aptly called “The Cardi B and Offset Meal.” It’s a meal to be shared, if a leaked promotion of the meal is to be believed, featuring a cheeseburger, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, large fries, an apple pie, a large Coca-Cola, a large Hi-C Orange Lavaburst and a side of barbecue sauce, according to HipHopDX. While McDonald’s has yet to announce the collaboration officially, some TikTok users spilled the beans on social media when they inadvertently received their McDonald’s meals in a Cardi B and Offset Meal paper bag.
Along with the meal, which does not have a public price tag yet, the rappers look like they will star in a commercial, most likely announcing the launch of their McDonald’s meal. Back in January, it was discovered that the couple had filmed the Super Bowl ad over the Christmas holiday.
We can only wait until Sunday afternoon to find out if the ad will be placed in the upper-echelon tier of Super Bowl commercials — as Cardi’s solo ad was — and if it will announce the launch of the Cardi B and Offset Meal. McDonald’s did not return a request for comment by publication time.
