Peli Motto Mentions A Clone Wars Species On The Mandalorian S3 Episode 2 – Looper

Mando gets straight to the point when he visits Peli Motto on “The Mandalorian” Season 3, Episode 2, but Grogu is excited to see her. Upon catching sight of the crafty mechanic, the toddler leaps out of Din’s ship and straight into her arms. It’s an impressive leap, with Motto comparing Grogu to a Lurmen — a species of diminutive creatures known for their ability to perform mighty leaps and speak with an Irish accent.

The Lurmen can mainly be found on the Outer Rim planet Mygeeto, though they have been known to crop up elsewhere. For example, their first appearance on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” in the episode titled “Jedi Crash,” introduces them as inhabitants of Maridun, where they live to try and avoid the conflicts taking place in the galaxy. In the episode, the tiny creatures aid Ahsoka and Anakin Skywalker after they crash land in the region and get into some trouble. The Lermun also make an appearance in the subsequent episode, “Defenders of Peace,” as their village is ransacked by Lok Durd’s forces.

It remains to be seen if the Lurmen will show up on “The Mandalorian” at some point. If they do, they probably won’t be too happy to engage with a bounty hunter who seems to attract trouble wherever he goes.
