Ina Garten’s 6-Ingredient Chipotle Cheddar Crackers Recipe

The holiday season and its endless parties is officially upon us. And if you are hosting an event between now and the end of the year, you most likely have party food on your mind, and rightly so. Planning menu after menu can cause a lot of anxiety, but having a delicious go-to appetizer in your back pocket can help alleviate some of the season’s stress.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, America’s most-trusted home cook, Ina Garten, recently shared her go-to holiday appetizer for Chipotle Cheddar Crackers and we’re already obsessed. For starters, they only require only four ingredients and can be prepared in advance, which means they are the easiest snack to freeze in advance, then pull out and bake just before guests arrive. I decided to make a big batch and I’m so glad I did—because these are honestly better than most store-bought cheddar cheese crackers.

What Are Chipotle Cheddar Crackers?

These bite-sized crackers are rich, cheesy and full of flavor. The crackers taste slightly spicy from the chipotle powder with a flavor reminiscent of Cheez-Its, only better. Since the predominant ingredient in these crackers is cheese, I highly recommend using a high-quality aged sharp cheddar, such as Kerrygold Reserve.

3. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F and line sheet pans with parchment paper. Slice the dough approximately ½ inch thick and place the rounds 1 inch apart on the parchment paper. You can flatten and shape the rounds at this point for a more uniform look.
