Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell has assessed which business leaders are amongst the 27 people who will be part of the prime ministerial delegation on his trip to India.
“Macquarie Bank CEO Shemara Wikramanayake, Twiggy Forrest, Wesfarmers boss Rob Scott, Commonwealth Bank boss Matt Comyn, ANZ boss Shayne Elliott, Rio Tinto boss Kellie Parker, the President of BHP Geraldine Slattery, Alison Dean from Cochlear and Mark Vassella from Bluescope Steel – what a high-powered delegation,” Mr Clennell said.
“There will also be some renewable energy interests on the trip and some university bosses and Jennifer Westacott and Andrew McKellar the industry group bosses.
“But it’s significant to see so many minerals’ interests represented.
“It’s quite clear this government is not turning its back on coal exports despite the urgings of the Greens and the Teals.”
Mr Clennell said after this India trip, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will be off to the US for the AUKUS announcement next week.
