By India Today Web Desk: All-rounder Bas de Leede didn’t have the most memorable outing when Netherlands and Pakistan locked horns with each other in a T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 match at the Perth Stadium.

In the last over of the powerplay during the Netherlands’ innings, de Leede copped a blow on the side of his helmet by a vicious bouncer from Haris Rauf. The Pakistani fast bowler hurled in a bouncer, after which de Leede tried to pull the ball to the leg side.

However, the batter found himself in all sorts of tangles and got hit on the head. Rauf bowls at excellent pace and it’s hard to play the pull shot off him. After copping the blow, de Leede looked in quite a bit of discomfort.

Soon after, he walked off the park, retired hurt. De Leede was batting on six runs off 16 balls with one four before he had to go off. Later, it was reported that the all-rounder suffered a concussion.

After Pakistan beat Netherlands by six wickets, Rauf caught up with de Leede and had a chat with him. Rauf motivated him and said, “You’ll come back stronger,” giving an account of the camaraderie between them.

Rauf had a decent day in the office after he finished with impressive figures of 3-0-10-1. He got the important wicket of Roelof van Merwe in the 17th over of the Netherlands’ innings.

Rauf helped Pakistan restrict the Netherlands to 91 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. The Men in Green chased the target down in 13.5 overs with 37 balls to spare.
