Between her work in Under the Banner of Heaven and starring in Where the Crawdads Sing, Daisy Edgar-Jones solidified herself as a household name in Hollywood last year. But she seems to be adding a new role to her ever-growing list of accomplishments — fashionista.
During the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, the Normal People actress surprised attendees when she wore an unexpected outfit. She graced the blue carpet wearing a Gucci gown that gave her the appearance of walking in naked. The 24 year old achieved the effect thanks to a sleeveless beige bodysuit that featured a sheer black mesh overlay with horizontal crystal stripes across the entire material. The unique design also showed off a bedazzled high neckline, which replaced the need for a bejeweled necklace.
With such a daring ensemble for the Fresh star, Daisy kept the focus on the dress instead of the rest of the look. For her accessories, she chose minimal accents and makeup for the well-known bash.
The British native wore heels that matched the color of her bodysuit and added simple jewelry to accent the complete sparkle of the number. She styled her dark hair into a chic bun with her bangs framing the face, and wore natural makeup to tie it all together.
When she posted the look on Instagram a few hours after the event, fans couldn’t get over seeing Daisy attend the major film event looking so glam. They commented how much they loved her direction in high-end couture.
“Hands down the best look of the night in my humble opinion ✨????,” one person raved in the comments section. “She is the prettiest thing on the ????. Period,” another follower agreed. “I thought I was over all the sheer looks last night, and then I saw this ????,” a different user exclaimed.
If Daisy showing up the lavish affair wasn’t enough, she also found time to reunite with former Normal People co-star (and Best Actor nominee) Paul Mescal. Turns out this isn’t the first time the two have been seen since filming the Hulu drama, as she posted about seeing him throughout 2022 on Instagram in early January.
What a night!
