Chocolate-Covered Nuts Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergen

Two products from the company SkinnyDipped are being recalled due to the presence of an undeclared peanut allergen that could be a major concern for consumers.

SkinnyDipped announced the recall on its website with a statement, which said, “We were notified by a supplier that an undeclared peanut allergen was found to be present in a raw ingredient in the chocolate used to produce a limited number of the above products.”

In the recall listed on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s website, it was reported that SkinnyDipped is voluntarily recalling specific 3.5 oz bags of both Dark Chocolate Cocoa Almonds and Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Cashew.

The recall further states, “People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products. The recalled products do not declare peanuts in the ingredient statement or as a disclosed allergen.”

The particular products being recalled were sold between Jan. 8, 2023, and Jan. 20, 2023.

The recalled Dark Chocolate Cocoa Almonds have a best-by date of 04/20/24 or 04/21/24, with the item UPC 8-61297-00030-8 and lot codes B22354, B12355, B22355, and B12354.

To find the lot codes and best-by dates, look on the back, lower right corner of the product.

No other SkinnyDipped products are affected by the recall.

Customers are advised not to eat the product, instead disposing of the food and saving the packaging to return to the retailer for either a replacement or refund.
