Black Angus auctions off Western photos this weekend

Black Angus Steakhouse is auctioning off its retired artwork at four Southern California restaurants this weekend.

The artwork is framed photographs with Western themes that hung in the Sherman Oaks-based chain’s restaurants. Among them are images by David R. Stoecklein, who was selected by founder Stuart Anderson, according to a news release.

Proceeds will benefit the Art of Elysium, an organization that supports the work of artists assisting people in need.

Online auctions will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16 and run through 10 p.m. Dec. 18 on the website Charity Auctions Today. Winners must pick up their purchases within 48 hours.

Black Angus began holding auctions for each of its restaurants on Nov. 30. According to the chain remaining auctions for California are scheduled for Jan. 6. They include Bakersfield, Brentwood, Buena Park, Fountain Valley, Montclair, Northridge and Ontario.
