226-foot terrifying asteroid among 4 coming dangerously close to Earth today, wa

There are 4 scary asteroids that will approach the Earth at a dangerously close distance today and the 226-foot terrifying asteroid, is the biggest, NASA says.

Today, November 5, is going to be a terror-filled day for the Earth. Not 1 or 2, but 4 different asteroids are set to make their closest approach to our planet, according to NASA and the biggest of them is a 226-foot monster that is the most terrifying of them all. And the fear is that even one of them deflecting from its orbital path can cause mass destruction on our planet. Recently, the Earth has been experiencing an influx of these space rocks. After a quiet period of a few months, the frequency of asteroids passing the planet from very close distances has increased. And with that, the risk that any one of these city-killer asteroid can strike the Earth and wreak havoc has also increased. Read on to know whether any of these 4 asteroids can strike the Earth today.

We have collated information from NASA websites like the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), Small-Body Database and others to find information about each asteroid and the risk that it poses to our planet.

2022 UB16

Discovered in October 2022, it is a gigantic 144-foot wide asteroid which will make its closest approach to the Earth today. The asteroid has been classified as a NEO asteroid. The asteroid has been predicted to come as close as 2.8 million kilometers to the Earth and will flyby at the whopping speed of 71,064 kilometers per hour. The current predictions of NASA state that the asteroid will make a safe passage away from our planet.

2022 UK10

Spotted in October 2022, this asteroid has a size of 88-foot. This asteroid will come closest to the Earth today at a distance of 5.8 million kilometers. It is traveling at the speed of 42,336 kilometers per hour and while any last minute deflection can push it towards the Earth, it appears that it will make a safe passage as well.

2022 UM21

This 55-foot wide asteroid was also discovered in October 2022. The asteroid will make the closest approach in recent history at a distance of 3.9 million kilometers. Zooming in at the speed of 51,624 kilometers per hour, this asteroid is also at the risk of being deflected towards the Earth. However, so far, it is moving on the right orbital path.

2022 UM16

Finally, this last asteroid is gigantic. At a width of 226-foot, it can do the maximum amount of damage to our planet, if it strikes us. Like the other asteroids in the list, it was also first observed in October 2022. It will be coming dangerously close to the Earth at a distance of 4.5 million kilometers while it travels at the speed of 56,844 kilometers per hour. It is expected to make a safe passage across the planet.
